so-so. it will run, take off good, but hits like 15 then bogs/ spits and sputters.
im thinking it just needs some fine tuning and the carb. acid dipped. ill have to play with it more and see what happens.

my '01 elite that runs sounds like it had the same problems, the first day it ran fine topping out about 33 to 35mph. Then the next couple days it would die if i tried to take it over 15 mph. My buddy and I took off the carb bought some cleaner and completely cleaned it out. He said he though some of the tiny particles had clogged the idle speed jet..i think. But anyways..put it back together and on and it runs fine now...except for the flat tire i just got.

i just got it running today. i took a scotch bight pad ( a rough sponge ) and zip-tied it over the carb opening. ( same thing i did with my sundiro ) as a air filter.

took it out for a run and it ran great. take off is good( feels like it could be a little better ) i dont know top speed but i know i can hit 35mph. i lined up next to another scooter. there top speed was 35, i cruised next to them and could have gone a little faster no problem.

Im wanting to do a plug chop tomorrow to see whats going on heat wise. but yeah its running good. starts first kick every time. idles good. I got that stupid purple sticker off the front of mine today also.
i plain on ordering a bore kit Friday. because i know my cylinder could be better.

i got this thing running good. it needs a little work still, like a real air filter and a carb. spacer....
Image
but so far it runs great.

ok so i did my tire swap today. i swapped my rims for a few reasons. one being since i got my 96 running i have been only really riding that one. not my 92 much. my 96's back tire just blew out.
My second reason is that i want to spray a few metallic blue thinks on the yellow. i think that along with the metallic blue rims will give me the racy look i want.

i also did the front rims but it was to dark to get a good picture so ill snap one tomorrow. im wanting to take the sticker holder off my 92 and put it on my 96 before i put the body all back together. ill keep you updated.

i got the 96 road legal today....
Image
the blue sticker on my 92 is a old old stick i had in my shed. way out dated it still looks better then not having anything at all.
=================================================
And i added this today.
Image
i hate the way it normally looks. this makes it seem less rack like and more a style thing.

This is what it looks like all together.

ok so i got a better filter today. well i made a better filter today. Out of pure luck it has the perfect amount of restriction. Got to keep in mind my cylinder has a gash in it along with my piston so my compression is low so i have to some type of restriction.

its a water bottle off some mountain bike. i cut the back side off to let the most air though. inside is a every day sponge you clean cars with, cut to a circle shape. the lid has 4 holes in it ( top, left , right, and bottem.) zip ties going over the carb. from the top hole to bottem. and a zip-tie going from left to right. its hard to explain. the bottle just screws on. I rode it in the rain yesterday and didnt have any problem at all. and its held on there good. jumping and all it keeps on there tight.

Also i put the speedometer cable off my other elite and put it on this 96. flys up to 36-37 in no time at all. 38mph is the highest i could get it. i was as aerodynamic as i could get and it took me a good quarter of a mile to get that one last mph. but i can hit 36 all day long.

Not a fan of having a water bottle doing any performance related on a scooter.. BUT that actually doesn't look too bad, and much better than the slapped on brillo pad haha

Looks kinda nice in the 2nd pic. I would say paint it black so it kinda looks like a filter and not a water bottle, and you're good to go.

I also have my stock box off my zip if you'd like to fit it up somehow. :P

And speed results sound good, I've only ridden mine a few times up and down the street and got it to 35mph easy, but still need to fully break in the new rings.

It's so much peppier than my old spree thats for sure.. poor spree could barely do 30mph towards the end of the street, but she was still a screamer.

i think for a water bottle it looks cool. it also gives me a load echo sound when its idling. almost sounds like a bigger bike. I think i might paint it later on. im looking right now for a sponge that is the same density but blue or yellow. i dont like the green color it is. Thanks for the offer but i think im going to stick with this for a while.
heres what gets me, my cylinder has a big gash half way down it on one side. along with my piston. and yet this thing goes. i mean this thing keeps right up with my 92 elite ( 64cc bore kit, high speed pulley kit and tons of other little things ). when i got my bore kit i think im going to be a bit scared. lol.

i dont know if its because mine has low compression or if there just different but mine is slow till like 5mph then it kicks in like a son of a b****. compared to my 92 that kicks in the second you give it gas. This normal?
