Final drive fluid/ gear oil or 10w-40?

Honda specify motor oil in the gearboxes of their cars too. If a B16a Vtec gearbox is supposed to run motor oil, then an NQ50 should also. With the hp rating of these beasts being so low, then every little thing that can be done to reduce the drag/losses should be embraced.

The latest oil I'm trying is from the same company I use for my pre-mix, Manhattan Oil.

It's an oil that replaces 20-50w, but up to 90w.

It's an uncannily light oil, but I'm going to be testing it extensively and looking at the gears after a reasonable amount of riding.

It's a 0w-40w synthetic that substitutes for oils up to 90w.

I might be breaking in another set of gears soon, so I haven't tried the synthetic yet.
