Awesome pictures and advice!... Thank you very much!
When I cleaned the carb originally, the tiny fuel inlet hole on the bowl was
completely clogged. Took me days to finally get it cleaned out. I ended up soaing the bowl in acetone for 4+ hours and hitting it with high pressure air to release the plug.
I'll look at the tube you mentioned, it's probably clogged as well since the fuel inlet hole was too.
Again... Thanks for the advice and pix!
I'll let you know what I find...

Ok the 4 holes on that tube were clean, no problems there.
However, There is a small tube that runs almost parallel to the main jet that appears to be clogged. Should you be able to see light straight thru it? If you are looking thru the tube from the bottom....
I believe it's the tube on the far left of the picture you posted...
How the heck did you get it out?? lol
Thanks,

Also...
I removed the air mixture screw & spring since it seems to intersect with the tube I mentioned above. I then ran about 70psi thru the bottom of that tube and couldn't feel any air escaping.... I think it's plugged. Even if you aren't supposed to see thru the tube, I'd suspect that I should feel air coming out the air mixture screw end... which would explain why it's running so rich...(very wet plug).... How do I get that tube out safely?
This is gotta be the problem...
Thanks,

Carb
That tube you mentioned is the idle jet.
There are hair size holes inside the tube that must be clear.
If you look down from the top of the carb, you will see in the middle the main jet.
Right next to it, you will see a tiny idle hole.
If you hold it up to a good light, you should see a small amount of light on the other side.
If not, more cleaning is in order.
A small guitar string wire works well in cleaning this jet as well as the small hole in the bottom of the carb cold start tube.
Keep trying, and let us know how it turns out.

Soaking the carburator again and I'll try clearing the hole tomorrow.
So if I understand correctly...
The small hole next to the main jet (top view) should go all the way thru
the tube down into the bowl...
Also, there are other holes in this same tube that may need to be cleaned.
With that said, how do you remove the tube if need be?
(I noticed that the picture shows the tube removed)
Thanks again for the help!

Don't try to remove the idle tube; unless you've done them before, you're likely to break it.
Usually compressed carb cleaner will clean out the idle jet; point the nozzle tube into the jet and squirt; you should see fluid going into the airway (seeing light through this jet isn't a good check, it's very small and hard to see light through.) If not, you can try dipping it in one of those 1-gallon carb dip cans.
Greg (uspmale) does rebuild carbs last time I checked.
Read your original problem; I would check compression as well for your issue.

I concur with noiseguy.
Although the carburetors are a weak spot on the Spree's, it doesn't cure all symptoms.
But, it is a good place to start. Once that part is eliminated, you can move on to other things.
Like compression, vacuum leaks, seal leaks reed leaks.

That did the trick...
Let the carb sit in cleaner for a few days, and eventually got the idle tube clean. As you mentioned, you could hardly see light through it. Now it appears as though the engine is finallly running like it's supposed to.
Now that the electrical & engine problems are a thing of the past, it's time to move on to the drivetrain.... Don't worry, I'll post a new thread
Thank you all for your help!
You rock...

Okay, here is the latest on the carburator stuff...
Starts perfectly, idles fine once warm...
Here's the kicker... I got a really crummy take off.
The bike shudders, and takes off real slow... The low end seems
to be the problem...
Once I get up to about 10mph, it seems to run ok. The scoot will do
almost 30mph if given enough room..
Pulled the plug and I'm running rich.... still too wet on the spark.
I put in a brand new OEM filter, and changed out the injector oil.
There is still some of the old valvoline 2 stroke oil in the lines, should
I keep running it until that passes thru, or might there be another
issue?
