weres the fuel strainer exatcly

pulled off the fuel valve and dont know were it is

There is a fuel strainer up underneath the fuel valve. You have to remove the fuel valve from underneath the tank and then you will see it. You have to drain your tank of gas of course because once you remove the fuel valve gas will come pouring out of the tank. Thats why I advise to add a fuel filter in the gas line itself . Put the fuel filter in between the fuel valve and the the carburetor. Somewhere in between where it can be changed easily. Just make sure you are cutting the gas line and not the vacuume line when you install the filter if you decide to do so.

i took off the fuel valve but did not see see it were is it located exactly?

If you have a spree it is up in the gas tank right above the fuel valve. When you remove the fuel valve from the tank you should see it.

You really should have been able to see it right away once the fuel valve was removed from the tank. If you can not see anything then I would assume that the fuel valve was removed by some previous owner who never put the fuel strainer back in. In either case I would still add a fuel filter in the gas line itself as I stated before.

I think they have the fuel filter in the tank to prevent the vacuum operated petcock from getting fouled.

I've tried both methods and the in tank filter works best.
I've seen rust particles ruin the diaphragm, causing raw fuel to enter the engine through the vacuum line.
If you take a light and shine it down in the area of the fuel valve inside the tank, you will see the filter tube and it's condition.
IMO it's the way to go.

The way these little carbs are prone to foul up because of small particles of dirt I suggest adding the fuel filter in the gas line along with having the fuel strainer in the gas tank. Its double protection.
