The Sundiro Story.

Post by Dac »

it seems like i have put money into my both my hondas like crazy. About every month or so im putting another $150 or so for a new cylinder or some other part. Every time one of my elites is going the other one is broke. Its really a never ending cycle.
Yet every time any of my bikes is down i always have one bike that is still 'kickin'. This sad little junker i got from a friend for a crappy old beat up guitar. This sad little bike breaks also, dont get me wrong. but a roll of duck tape, zip ties and a hammer has fixed everything so far.

Im talking of my sundiro. Known by my friends as the S***DirO.
Image

Time after time again, this bike has gone though * and started right back up. The gas tank is duck taped on. The carb is ziptied on. The kick starter gave out, but a few screws in the clutch and now its a push start.

every time i think this bike is dead it always comes back to life. No matter what i do to it. When i got this bike from a friend (Old Picture One. / Old Picture two.) He beat me $5 i could not get the thing running. Ever since i got it running i cant seem to kill it. No matter what i do to this thing ( WOT for hours on end. Running straight gas. No filter on dirt roads. driving it in really deep puddles. Crashing it into anything and everything.)

I even went as far as getting a Video of this bike just for laughs. To prove the 'raw power' of this joke.
When i work on this thing, it takes everything i know about 2strokes and trows it out the window. With both my elites. im super careful not to mess up anything. everything is done with extreme patience. yet they still break. This thing however, when it breaks, i tear it apart out in my driveway. (dirt/sand) don't clean any parts when putting it back together. But yet it still runs perfect. Its chain driven but i have not oiled the chain once since i got it. The cooling system busted off going down the road. yet i have not had an over heating problem, even when riding WOT for long periods of time on the hottest days of summer.

i know the second i get it road legal it will break, so i try not to leave my small redneck (cop free) type town.
Till the day its gone. Im sure my friends and i will have tons of fun.
{ill try to get a better video this summer before it dies}

right before i trew that together i was watching 'shawn of the dead' theres like a 2 second clip in beginning where he is on a bus, thats the music they use. Just so happens i had that mp3 on my hard drive so... yeah...

not really my type of music, but whatever.

The main thing i wanted to show was the take off on the sundiro. I mean, the thing goes like a bat out of * on take off.

What's the Sundiro engine design copied from? Vertical jug looks like a Honda design...

its like a honda motor but the carb/reeds are in the front of the cranks case.

Im pretty sure any camaro made to go fast would smoke your aero in the 1/4.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

I just found a friend who might have a spree sitting behind his house.
he said the body is trashed but it would be a nice junker. As far as he knows its a mid-80's honda 50.
I got to talk to him more and see if he will let me buy it. If i can that would be awesome.
