can't get steering stem nut to move
So what do i need to be using on the steering stem locknut? i need to tighten it because the stem is lose and wiggles around and i don't really need to be riding it like that. I see in the manual that there is a special tool but can i still get it? i've been trying to use a channel lock and a vice grip and it just won't budge.
any tips? i've been dousing it with Wd40 and it just won't move, i tried loosening and tightening it.

since i was already at the honda dealer today picking up an air element, i had them look up the numbers for the lock nut wrenches, it's a no go, both numbers where invalid, he tried calling two different places and looked in a honda tools catalog too. i'm sure you guys could have told me it wasn't available anymore.
i just thought why not, i'm already here.
i'm still open for suggestions, i never did get it fixed, i was trying to do it with the handlebars still on but i'm gonna go ahead and take more stuff apart to do a 10 min fix...
oh well

Dad has a BIG (like 18inch handles and adjustable to a good 4-6 inches) pair of channel locks I use for tearing down old B&S engines. Perhaps suck a tool might work for you?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

i'll try it, we have a HUGE adjustable wrench somewhere but i couldn't find it, that's why i had to use the channel loc, and mine is barely big enough, it just slips off. I'll try to find that wrench because that should work. otherwise i'm going to start searching for an EXTREMELY long socket so i can use the air wrench on it. i'm getting kind of impatient to ride because the weather is getting real nice here and for something this simple to hang me up, it's very frustrating
