Found a true JOG 0_0 (pics added)

Post by burnt_toast »

omg I couldn't believe it today, but I've just found a '98 Yamaha Jog for sale in the next city for $700!!!

I think I am going to go look at it tomorrow, and if its in good condition this would be one helluva find! :D

If you know what a true Jog is you can appreciate this thought alone, finding one in the states is as hard as finding a good condition, legal elite on mainland.

Anyways wish me luck heh :P

BTW for those that dont know what the big deal is, here is a taste of what you can do with a jog:

Lol this happened a while ago mann, yup down to 2 scoots from 5. Kept the best and sold the rest :P

Triton was first to go, somewhat regretfully it was a solid scoot for speed and economy but needed the money at the time. Italjet had awesome looks and performance/handling, but ONLY when it worked! :? It got to be more headache than it was worth for me so I sold that. I had my fun with the Zip70, but hated the stock gearing and speed even with the kit so it went.

Not all by choice, I live with my parents and having the 5 scoots around always got to them mainly my dad so I had to sell the ones I did.

d*** that jog in the vid hauls major *, I wonder what all is in it.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Here's the pics of this dirty jog beast, top box and all  Got to ride it for a few stretches and it felt pretty good, same pep from a stop as a stock dio elite but better gearing, reached about 45mph pretty easy. Have to wait about a week before I go pick it up, and then the fun begins :)

Nothing crazy atm, going to keep it close to stock and use it as an economy scoot for time being. May get exhaust and gearing, retune trans. Also have some spare CF jog type reeds that should bolt right up.

For the mean time 70mpg and 50mph is the goal. In the future.. who knows

how can you tell the difference between a 'real' jog and others?

my buddy rides one of these here in SF, guy he bought it from says it came from japan...

cost much to get these things going faster?

About as much as if you want to go faster on dio, depends on your goals.

I'm considering "real" jog as the ones produced 92+ with the horizontal minarelli engine, its a very tunable engine.

Sounds like a steal :P

Seriously the potential of a jog is pretty amazing and even stock they have very good performance.
