umm, you mean, you cant idle?
like when you stop the bike dies?

or are you saying the clutch is not disengaging? What happens there is the motor keeps turning since the wheel is turning. Using the brakes forces the motor to go slower. When you stop it dies.

please explain your question better.

forgive me, yes, by braking, the engine slowly dies down....or even by not accelertating...as it slows down the engine will cut out around 10, 5 mph.

Also, the threads on the carb are shredded, i bolted everything together, yesterday morning, using the new bolts i ordered. On the way home from work, with the vibration, the bolt just fell out, I was not able to recover it concidering i lost it on a busy street, and it was dark....any suggestions? i pray I dont have to buy a new carb.

You will have to find a little longer bolts that fit through the holes and put nuts on the end to tighten them up. You cannot run the bike without the carb being fitted tight with the intake. You will have an air leak between there and it will not run right.

any thoughts on why the brakes are killing my engine??? I cant get it to idle unless ive been riding it for some time. But starting out, the engine will die if I dont accelerate, it cannot maintain itself.

scratch that request, i just figured it out. Ive tried using nuts and bolts. spacers and stacked washers....nothing is grabbin the carb...i fear the threads are long gone, no compression for me...therefore, a dead spree.

forgive me, I havent been wording my posts correctly, im just really frustrated. THe carb itself is fine, works perfectly. I just cant get the air cleaner to mount to it and seal it....first i was running with one bolt...then i ordered the new ones which fell out on a ride home, i tried using nuts and spacers to get it to seal, nothing seems to be working.

You lost me...is it the air cleaner not bolting on right or the carb to the intake not bolting on right?

If it wont run with the air filter on,(I think thats what your trying to say) try drilling a hold in your air box, start with a small hole, and if that still dosent work, enlarge the size.

pictures say 1000 words......and since i cant find the right ones....

here is an overall look of the area im tryin to speak of...

this is a picture of the problem itself...

I can turn the bolt as much as i'd like too....but it will not tighten if my life depended on it... (i realize that bolt is too long, but the new ones i ordered i lost on a ride home...the vibration cause them to come off and i was not able to recover them)

i tried bolts and nuts on the other side which also wont tighten, and i tried...

Image

....to stack washers to get more of the bolt in the carb...i had a spacer which was too tall, not allowing much of the bolt to grab the carb...i though this would do the trick.....but no...

Whoa whoa whoa. Do NOT go drilling holes in the air box. There is a special place in * for people who drill holes in Spree air boxes.

Where does your configuration not look like mine?
