Gas Gauge Non-Op... always on "F"...

Post by SanJoseMichael »

1985 Spree, gas gauge needle always shows past F as in Full, seems to be stuck. Sending unit seems to be okay, I pulled it out and had a quick look at it, but I'm not sure which end to check first. Sending unit failure or maybe the gauge needle itself is stuck? Tips, hints, clues welcome, thanks.

I'll bet you thought you were getting great gas mileage until it stopped.

Yeah, I did think I was getting some pretty good milage until I had a look in the tank! I'll check wiring on the gauge end, as the sender unit seems to be fine (and easier to inspect!).
