Your going faster by drilling holes is gonna be short lived, the engine is probably leaning out and SLOWLY MELTING, YOU IGNORANT #$%^
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Pull your exhaust off and blow through the tail pipe.
It should blow through quite easy.
If that checks out, you have low compression

In reading other posts...I've read that drilling holes in your airbox is a no no.

Any mod from from the air box lid to the carb is 99% guaranteed to f*** up your bike.
