Just doing a carb overhaul on the stock motor (leaking pretty bad), I have a LNIB never ran Tecumseh H50 (5 horse, all cast iron) for backup but the briggs is lighter and more compact. Problem is to unbolt the gas tank/carb you have to remove the engine/torque converter form the frame and unbolt the torque converter plate to get to the gas tank mount bolt.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
