My new petcock just arrived for my spree....maybe a problem...description says NEW VACUUM PETCOCK HONDA ELITE 50 SA SE 50 NQ NB SPREE.....I kinda figured it was a universal one for all those above brands....its a bit smaller than the original but shaped the same....problem is....I was checking it out and tried pulling air through the upper nozzle by mouth ( the one that gas flows from tank to carb) and no air pulled through where it does on the old one.
Suggestions?

I've already gotten to it w/o dropping the motor...if its the tube (90 degree goose neck thingie) that attaches to the carb on one end ....then bends downward to the motor with the reeds on the bottom side(which is squarish in shape. on the round side(next to the carb) which is seperated by a thick gasket with an o ring inbedded in it....I can see where some material can be removed a bit to open it up some...on the inside it angles inwards some.

It's actually the left half of the engine, the part that the intake bolts onto that can use alot of dremel help. There are jagged parts in there where the vertical metal part that splits the opening in two and otherwise appears to do nothing at all is. Doing it right and making sure you don't get metal bits in the crankcase absolutely requires splitting the crankcase. It's much easier to see and grind the bad stuff away from the inside of the left side of the crankcase.

The gooseneck thing is all I did, never messed with the case although there is room for improvement. The round to square transition on the manifold is absolute s***, smooth it out with a dremel, you want a rough finish here so dont polish it or anything.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
