Cleaning left side cover for Spree

Is there a good way to clean the inside of the left inside cover and around the belt area? I will be replacing the belt and clutch pads this weekend and would like to know the best way to get everything cleaned up.

I plan on using the air compressor but was wondering what type of cleaners might speed the process.

That's kind of what I thought. Any concerns with getting that stuff near the seals that are in there? I will obviously try to keep it away from them but was just curious.

There's only one seal in there, it's the one on the crankshaft behind the front sprocket and pulley. If you're really concerned, you can take off the sprocket and pulley (chances are you'll be doing that anyway based on what you're doing), and put a piece of tape or something over the hole there leading to the oil seal.

I work on Paslode nail guns for a living, there is a spray cleaner for the gas operated guns that is bit bit calmer on the rubber parts than break cleaner ( but it costs a bit more...5 bucks per can ) it doesnt hurt the circuit boards or the fan motor parts in the head of the gun and evaporates quickly. Just a suggestion.
