Two questions...

Post by Mackeral61 »

Just have a couple questions....

1. When drilling baffles in the exhaust, I wasnt paying much attention apparently and I let it drill through the outside of the muffler under that plate thingie. What damage would this cause and will standard muffler tape be OK to cover up hole.

2. I decided to do away with the oil resevoir and just use premix, and Yes I ground the teeth off the pump and plugged the holes with vacuum plugs. I'm using a premium synthetic 2 cycle oil mixed with the gas...is this OK or is something better?

The pump is fine on everything up to 72cc, no need to premix, hole in the muffler should hurt anything, just weld over it.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You will f*** up your crank volume by doing that, grind off gears or order a dummy only.

Call VT Cycles and ask them to send you an oil pump plug.

I dont think you can tap a muffler, too thin, welding/braing it would work better.
