Just got my 1996 elite from ebay.

Post by booism »

Hello there to all, I am new to this forum and I just won an auction for a 1996 sr50 on ebay which I am picking up tomorrow, got it for 610.00 , a little more than I wanted to spend but I still feel I got a good deal. It's got about 4600 miles on the odometer. here's some pics from craigslist, will post my own pics very soon, Thanks for all the good info I have found here before my purchase!!!

Nice! Looks like you got about $3 worth of free gas in there with the deal too, so it's really only like $607!

Welcome!

Thanks! I thought the color was pretty cool too. I don't know how I feel about the color on the floorboard/legshield yet.(some painting might be in order) It's being delivered to me tomorrow night so I will take some pics and post them and hopefully she's running like she should be.

Depending on how it runs . If all is good I would like to get a 72cc kit ,variator, clutch, pipe, and gears which will probably include a carb and intake/filter. I noticed that there aren't many wheel options for the elite. I was also hoping that there is a way to upgrade to disc brakes. But one step at a time, my wife already wants to kill me for spending too much money on my ruckus

that sounds like the way to go, I don't know how I feel about going any faster than 45 without good stopping power. I've been riding my ruckus at around 48-50 and the drum brakes weren't really up to par.

lol. That's what I paid for my scooter. Not bad though considering you'll be able to stop on a dime.
