i would try replacing the rings and the head gasket, even know they look good they probably still need it, how low is your compression?

Rehone bore, install new rings.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Thanks for helping...I stuck myfinger in the plug hole while cranking and felt No pressure-only some slight suction on the downstroke. Still can't figure how burn marks on side of piston got Below the rings???? Also is it normal to have carbon build up on the piston but None on the head?

On this 2 stroke motor, the exhaust port is on the side of the cylinder, so yes, you would expect carbon build up around the corresponding area on the piston. I've also seen the top of the piston have carbon, but not the head. I suspect this is because the metal on the head is much harder and smoother than the metal on the top of the piston.

you are right Charlotte- the burn marks match to the exhaust port, I will buy new rings and gaskets and cross my fingers..with ga$$ going up up up, I plan to use this scooter for local transport!

Dont forget to clean the exhaust port and hone it.

The exhaust port is immaculate-that is what is so puzzling about this- everything seems to be in good shape but no gas is getting from the carb to the s/plug :(

Try holding your hand over the intake holes on the airbox. Does it go pop pop pop when you crank it over without a plug?
