If it makes you feel better, I wasted atleast a few weeks with Vento gears in my second Zip 70cc.

Installed a rare set of upgears, paid $120 for em before, spent two days tuning. Got it to do 55mph, opposed to 42mph with stock even with the kit. And then..

The fakas broke! So not only did I lose the gears, but all the time installing, then had to buy new rear axle from Vento, wait, and install those only to end up with the same 42mph top speed :?

Feel better my friend
projects galore :nerd:

I'll be doing something similar tonight (bone stock motor with gears) but with a taller ratio. I just finished pressing my gears (8.44) and will install them tonight when I get home. I have a Corsa/PG Long ready to go, but the carb and jets haven't come in yet so I've held off. I'll button it up and see what it does. The only other mods are the removal of the restrictor plate on the variator and a Keli pulley. Carb jet is still a 68 and the exhaust still has the washer in it. Should be interesting. My guess is I'll probably have no takeoff at all, but might hit 35-40mph.

Is it a new bore kit? If so you better take your time on that top speed and break it in properly.

Nevermind, i just understood what you said.

7 to 1 gears require a bore kit, carb & pipe, just dial in the clutch the way you like it.
Can't afford speed then stay away from it!
