hi guys im here from southern california and am new to this forum...i recently got a 1989 honda sb50 elite project for free and am wondering...is this motor tunable? and if so what can i do because i've done some searching and so far found that the 94 and above are and 87 and below are but not the 89 is this true? also what motor will fit into this 89 frame if i wanted a better tunable motor? thanks for the help......

will the dio engine from the 94-01 elite s just bolt on without modifications to the frame? and if so is it minor or major? and what is the estimate cost of the engine itself? sorry for all the questions just trying to see what i can work with

Not a direct bolt on and prices will vary between $200-$500+ depending on condition and goodies.

if i do get that dio engine and since its not a direct bolt on what modification would have to be done? and has this been done before? is there any cutting and welding for this process or is it just swithcing the engine hanger to the 94 to hold that engine? and after the engine is on will there have to be a change with the wiring harness and so on? just trying to find answers and solutions to know what i'm working with if its gonna be a hassle or simple do it yourself mod....because if not i might as well just get a whole new stock 2stroke engine from the dealer to be replaced.... just trying to get a little umph with the scooter

basically everything i have now on that scooter engine wise is bad and mostly or half of everything must be replaced and it just seems that it would be better to get a whole new engine....only thing thats good is the wiring harness lol
