1987 Spree problem.....

Post by chode »

It will start. Just when I give it gas, it dies. Then I restart it, then
give it gas and it dies. I've had it for 2 days now and it seems like
it was $600 down the drain. So I called Sportique in Denver and they
want $69/hr to fix it. This sucks.

I took off the side panel, removed the fuel filter below the gas tank,
and tried blowing through it with my mouth and used some carb cleaner
and nothing. Any suggestions?? I need to get this thing running ASAP.

thanks,
Chode

Main jet is clogged in carb. Take off and clean per manual available on this forum.

Cleaning carb is fairly easy to do yourself. clean your main jet with some air and you should be set.

(plz post in the correct forum)
projects galore :nerd:

As long as the problem is fixed when they're done, sounds like a plan.

ALL repair shops ALWAYS rob you on the $/hour. It's much more economical to do things yourself.

Put a sign in the yard and advertise in the paper. You'll be surprized how much business you can drum up working out of your garage.
