With the present high gas prices I dug my 85 Honda Spree out of my shed where it sat for 13 years. When I bought it 13 years ago it "kinda" ran....lol. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to make it run mainly because of lack of knowledge. I did spend a couple of hours muddling around with it back then, but after getting nowhere and getting frustrated I put it away.
I found this site through Google and thanks to the manual that I downloaded from here, the Spree is now running. It turned out to be a plugged main jet. Plus I had to clean all the rust out of the gas tank and put some POR15 coating inside it. The tank should be cured by tomorrow so I'll be able to road test it then. Everything else seems to work well, lights, horn, signals. I had to do some scraping on the sending unit in the gas tank but it apparently works now.
So thanks again for this site and all the knowledge it contains. Hopefully you won't mind if I ask some foolish questions in the future.
You may be new, but you can already help me out! What did you do to clean off that rusty sending unit? My tank was Rust City and I need to get the unit back in but haven't cleaned off the rust.
I was just thinking of some gas and a rag or something
