At partial throttle no power and missfire

Post by cpiunno »

I took a perfectly running spree, drilled out 2 baffles, ported intake, re-jetted. At WOT it runs fine, plug chop is perfect. But partial throttle doesn't work, it missfires and is boggy. I adjusted the clip to the bottom and middle settings and it doesn't make a difference. What else can I adjust?

You dont need to rejet after that. I didnt and it didnt change. Me thinks your rich, try putting the clip in the top notch.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

I also forgot to mention that I have an aftermarket filter (chevy v8 style). It will idle with stock jet and clip in stock position, but once throttle was increased it would missfire and then die completely once the plug became completely soaked with oil.
I am going to play with differnet jet sizes and clip positions until I can get it to work. Thank you for the help. I'll post my findings when I am complete.

Thats the problem, your never gonna get it running right without a stock airbox. People have tried this, your not gonna get any improvement over a unmodded stock box.
