Swap : Aero 1985 to Spree 1987

Post by solstice »

Just to know if it's easy to swap a 85 Aero engine in a 87 spree. I have a beat up aero and it's a way faster than the spree. If it can be done, it is bolt on?

It is pretty close, you have to bolt the aero motor to the sprees kick stand mount (you will need to make your own kick stand and do away with the center stand) you will also need to make a extension bracket for the shock (use the aero shock).
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Do I need to make an extension bracket for the shock even if I use the Aero shock or only if I use the spree shock?

You will want to use the aero shock and yes you will probably need the extension.
