I wanna make it go faster just bought it for 950 is that a good deal, in nice condition with 600 miles. I was looking at vt cycles and they have a Proma big bore 63cc if I bought that how much faster and would i have to change the gearing? WOuld it take off slower? Hard to install? thanks
last i checked they where out.
Never trust VTcycles site, you have to call them and talk to them, dont worrie, they are very nice people, who spend time making sure the costumer gets what they want.
a had a bike with the same motor, i did the 63cc kit, high speed pulley, up jetted, and a few other minor things.
top speed was less then impressive. 45mph was about the top of it. Downhill 50mph but the top speed was just not there.
See, these bikes do not have gears available. so no matter what you do to the motor, the top end will never be that great. Take off however will be amazing.

* smartass, a full set of dio gears will drop right in and allow you to use whatever gears you want.stillspeeding wrote:Don't bother, they don't make gear ratios for that model, your bore kit will blow real fast.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
i agree with both of you...Kenny_McCormic wrote:* smartass, a full set of dio gears will drop right in and allow you to use whatever gears you want.stillspeeding wrote:Don't bother, they don't make gear ratios for that model, your bore kit will blow real fast.
but yeah, on one hand, stillspeeding is kinda right, its a pain in the * motor to work on. i had one, i put allot of time into it, i put allot of money into it. And i just blew it up because i had to hold it WOT to go like 40mph. A stock honda metropolitan was just as fast as my bike on top end. And these bore kits just blow out after 1000 miles or so, even less holding it WOT.
But on the other hand kenny your right. A full set of dio gears should drop right in. But the only person who did it (chevyguyjay) wasnt very clear on if he ever even fully finished it, or how well it worked.
And getting your hands on a FULL dio gear set is kinda hard, most performance gears only come with gears, not the dio shafts you need.

yes. a 94-01 elite motor should fit right in there with no mods at all.eclypse wrote:Ok.. Then how about just getting ahold of a 94-01 SA50 motor? Would that fit in my 88 Elite 50 SA50 or no?
i remember someone once saying something about needing a washer in the front mount, but its a really minor thing.
