Few Questions. Spree.

Post by CarrotTop »

Ok i try searching but it brings way to many threads up to look there for the info i need.

1. Is drilling the holes in the Muffler on a spree going to help at all?

2. port the intake manifold what should i be doing in there. I just dont wanna mess it up haha.

Anyone got like pics of that being done.

3. What other things could i do that are somewhat easy to get more speed outta my spree.

On flats i get 30-33.

Id also like a little quick Acceleration if possible.

2. port the intake manifold what should i be doing in there. I just dont wanna mess it up haha. take it off, you will see it was not made to flow well, change that.

Anyone got like pics of that being done.

3. What other things could i do that are somewhat easy to get more speed outta my spree. nothing else easy for accel.

On flats i get 30-33.

I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Weird, could be coincidental, do a plug chop.

Run it wide open for a mile (preferably a mile before your driveway) and kill the motor with it still at wide open hold it open till its dead. Pull out the sparkplug, color of the carbon burnt onto the little ceramic insulator inside the plug tells you if its rich/lean. Coco brown is the perfect color.

It's Coco brown.

Maybe it needs the 2 holes and the 1 hole i drilled didn't create the correct pressure or something? Only did one 2 test.

What size should the holes in the muffler be?

Well my spree muffler only has on plate there. So i think it lost some of its compression. I stuck a metal thing up the muffler and didn't hit anything else..

So guess time to do some other mods inside the engine now.

You lost some backpressure, not compression.

I spent $90 for high-po cycle shop to port and polish intake, port exhaust port on cylinder, and shave head. At least I know it's right and I didn't screw anything up. The shaved head was a used one they had, it costed $0. By the time you buy a dremel and bits it would in my opinion be better to take to a performance cycle shop. They know what they're doing.
