Yeah I figured. The only thing I don't understand is the 10 and 2 thing for the rings... but I'm buying this kit:Kenny_McCormic wrote:They are * you, if you know what the * your doing (easy to learn), there will be no problems.

I'm going to try to find a 19mm carb too.
Is that all I'll really need to get started with a bore kit? And if I get a 19mm+ carb then I'll need a different intake manifold or throttle cable, or will the stock ones work?
Or if I install it will it harm anything to run it without a bigger carb?
I apologize for being such a noob, haha...
How about some pictures so you all don't get bored with me?
This is the SA50 that's killing my wallet:

And here is the rest of her.. Note the beer pong cups for organization... haha

Here's the bottom end... there are a few gouges inside... would that effect anything?

"3172" miles...

The piston

The head... anyone interested in buying it when I get my bore kit?... it doesn't look too destroyed.

My shark ('03 Hyundai Tiburon).. duplicolor works wonders on stock rims:

You will need a new manifold im 99% sure. You could run the stock carb/intake with a upjet and closing down the air screw (richen the pilot), but I hear its a bad idea. Your gonna want a UNI or similar filter for the new carb. You will also want to tie the oil pump to max or buy a plug and run premix.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
dude, 19mm is way to small, if you are going with a 72cc kit you need a 28mm carb.
AND GEARS
i dont know if you already orderd the kit or not but i would advice not doing so. Call up the guys at VTCycles (808-593-7733). They will help you get the right set up.
those guys are all about customer service, they will make sure you will have everything you need. and the best set up for so.

Interesting kit - I hadn't seen that one before. All aluminum - wow. It almost seems too cheap though. Kinda makes me wonder.nparks wrote: Yeah I figured. The only thing I don't understand is the 10 and 2 thing for the rings... but I'm buying this kit:

Having just completed a similar build, I can tell you with these scooters its pretty much an all or nothing deal. You need a much bigger carb for that kit - go with a 28mm OKO. Might as well order a new exhaust too.I'm going to try to find a 19mm carb too.
Yes - you will need a new intake and throttle cable. Talk to Keoni at VT. When I ordered a few weeks ago, they had a great package price on the carb/cable/intake/air filter. Is that all I'll really need to get started with a bore kit? You would need to up your main jet big time to around 100 (stock is 68 for the S and 78 for the SR) to keep the stock carb running a bore kit. Anything less and you'll run too lean and burn it up.Or if I install it will it harm anything to run it without a bigger carb?
