How do I remove the rear wheel?

Post by domromer »

I'm about to order some slick new tires for my Aero. Removing the front seems pretty straight forward. unscrew the brake cable and loosen the nuts on the axel.

The rear has me scratching my head. I can see the axel and nut on the right hand side, but the left side is a big case were I imagine the drive belt and gears would be. How do I go about removing the wheel?

I don't really no, But try removing that and you should have a better look at it. It is not hard to remove.

nope you do not need to take it out, you just put a block of wood in the rim to hold it in place then hit it with and impact gun, or a socket wrench and a lot of force

I got the bolt off, but the engine case is in the way. I've been trying to get the gearbox apart but I think someone used RTV or gorilla glue as a gasket haha.

YOU DON'T TAKE THE GEARBOX OFF!! The wheel just slides off the axle on the right side of the scooter.

Wheel is probably just stuck on the axle. Hit it with a rubber mallet a few times to loosen it.

Seriously, does anyone bother reading the manuals anymore?

Does the muffler swing out of the way somehow? Or do I have to unbolt it to remove the rear wheel?

You have to take it off all together. But it is not that hard, just 4 bolts.
