noiseguy, after pulling both an 84 and an 87 spree apart i noticed that an 87 spree has a dome shaped piston and the 84 has more of a concaved shape on the top. correct me if im wrong but wont the 87, have more compression because of that shape? u might be better off and get even more compression with an 87 piston.

Sounds like it. Were the heads different b/t the '84 and '87?

i couldnt tell u. i didnt have the head for tha 84. but, the 87 has like a rounded sphere like shape.(like a hemi head)

i think u mean a chevy valve cover breather.

i am not sure if this works. has anyone tried it?

I built a custom cone filter from an existing Spree inlet tube and a paper element from a lawnmower filter. Suffice to say that it didn't make it go any faster/quicker. I think you would actually have to play with the intake length to get this to work, but I'd had enough of that route.

i think i asked this before but, since the spree carb is sooo finicky, what about a standard 49cc pocket bike carb? since the throttle is a better design, u can also buy different flows, and they have velocity stacks. u should be able to bolt one up with no problem.

can u just bolt on a pocket bike carb on with no prob :?: :?:
yeah ihave no mods on my spree and i got it up to about 30 mph today :lol: :lol: :lol: :D :D

it needs to be 49cc, and u might have to make an adapter.
