Now for the problem. It will not idle unless the idle screw is about 1/5 a turn from all the way seated, It cuts out badly at wide open throttle. Midrange is awesome, just bucks and * at wot (only about 22mph).
Recently to try get rid of the problem I have tore down and cleaned the carb about 5 times throroughly(even removing emulsion tube), checked the petcock, cleaned out fuel screen, ported the intake, checked reeds(looked okay far as I could tell with naked eye), have checked for intake leaks, cleaned out airbox and lid, replaced air filter.. And im sure a bit more..
Now tonight I got thinking possibly the bystarter sticking, sure enough when I pulled it off the brass tube that holds the needle was stuck and had to remove with pliers. Looks like the cylinder for that tube has a bump in it that needs to be filed.
For kicks I left the bystarter completely out. I could set the idle as normal, and ran perfectly. I took it for a quick burn WOT and hit 29mph no bogging. If I cover the hole at all for the bystarter, It will immediately stall unless I have the idle screw almost all the way back in... Any ideas on my problem? I figured if it was a stuck bystarter, I could remove it and still block it with my finger and tune it ok... Thanks alot for the help!
