Having trouble getting my honda elite to start

Post by dei4life38 »

I recently bought an 1988 Honda Elite lx sa50. Upon purchasing this scooter, I found out that it didnt run and had not ran sionce last june. I have changed to the spark plug, the ignition coil, spark plug wire, carburreter, all the fuel lines, all the oil lines, voltage recifier, battery, and cdi. Upon replacing all of these parts, I found that I have a blown headgasket. Does anyone know where to find replacment parts but the key is the scooter was upped to 65cc. If anyone knows where I can find these types of parts it would be gratefully appreciated.

Make one from some copper flashing. Or lap the head and jug top and use some permatex super 300 gasket maker(be sure to check clearances).
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Probably improper torque.

I cant genenty anything, but yeah, they have all sorts of scooter parts, and i know they did have those bore kits, so they might have head gaskets.
