Elite stopped running....again..

Post by Uknwulikethat »

I was putting over to my sisters house...and as soon as I let off the throttle she died...I pushed her to my sisters got her to fire up...but there was no smoke in the exhaust at all. Which leads me to think that its running 2 lean? So to get it home I emptyed the oil. and Premixed ...got a little ways from home and than I Let offf the throttle and she died had to push her home. Does anyone have any ideas to what could be going on? I drained the premix out, have to pick up some gas after to work. Doe anyone know how to adjust the oiler? Or how to check if its working. Or if it needs to be cleaned out?

It had been sitting for 2 years and for the last couple months been working on getting it running again... I had it running once, put the wrong 2 stroke oil in it..and fouled a plug. Changed oil put in a new plug, and was running great til yesterday. when all that happened.

Thanks anyone and everyone for there help

Lean and oiless are two different things, more oil will lean it out more. Your carb is probably clogged, clean it out.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

If the carb was clogged wouldnt that mean no gas as well?

Thanks Kenny. I havent gotten the chance to clean it yet. But say its clean. Than, in your opinion, what would be my next step in the process of elimination?

Check oiler, should make 1 drop every 10 second or so at idle.
But its ALMOST ALWAYS a carb problem.
