Adding a UNI Filter too my Elite

Post by ecarter330 »

Is it possible to put a uni filter on my Elite? I derestricted it but I want to do away with the stock airbox... If i were to put one on it which UNI would be best to buy and what Jet would I need to put in my Carb? I cannot get an 80 jet so would a 90 be too big?

Thank Guys

unless your stock air box is gone, i would stick with it.
the stock air boxs have good flow and they hold up in the rain. UNI filters and most after market air filters are bad for that reason alone. One bit of rain and they clog up and your bike dies out.

but yeah if your stock box is gone, then i guess a UNI would not be that bad because they are cheaper.

As for jets, a 90 would be better then stock.

90 would be "better" as in you wouldn't fry your engine but it would run like pure SHH..

You won't see MUCH benefit at all from using a UNI on a near stock setup. Stock box works best for that
projects galore :nerd:
