Help my friend out...
My buddy derestricted his Elite 50 S well half derestricted it... he removed the plate, and drilled out the washer in the head pipe. the bike ran great for about 2-3 minutes now it just starts up runs boggy and dies at like 10 mph... is this because he didnt derestict the airbox and rejet the bike?

I'm going to take a shot in the dark on this one.ecarter330 wrote:My buddy derestricted his Elite 50 S well half derestricted it... he removed the plate, and drilled out the washer in the head pipe. the bike ran great for about 2-3 minutes now it just starts up runs boggy and dies at like 10 mph... is this because he didnt derestict the airbox and rejet the bike?
Since you derestricted the exhaust, you would now be moving more air through the engine.
Being that you can now move air faster through the pipe with less restriction, you are also moving more air through the carb.
So it could be possible that you had some small junk built up in the carb and being able to move more air through the motor you may have dislodged it clogging something up.
It sounds to me like a carb problem. The first thing I would do is take the carb off and clean it throughly. A good carb cleaning is a good thing to do on an Elite anyways.
