so i see that some people are running that phongeer long exhaust that vtcycles sells. Is that a better exhaust then some of those exhausts that have the expansion chamber, then curve the tail pipe all the way back towards the beginging of the expansion chamber?
Any dyno data on this exhaust. lol I know its a scooter, but anybody could just make a exhaust pipe.

the PG long is very common on 72cc set ups. even though its a 90cc pipe.
you put it on a stock scooter, and you will loose take off and only gain like 5mph.
The expansion chamber based pipes are good for stock bikes or 72cc bikes. But they are ungodly load and not chose that often.
Personally, unless your current pipe is ruined i would just stick with it. The stock pipe isnt as bad as everyone things it is. And! Instead of spending $125+ on a pipe, spend $105 on gears and a high speed pulley from VT.
That set up will take an all stock elite and put it 45-50mph.

Highly agree with that last statement! I would totally do it on a spare Elite, and reap the benefits of cruising at that speed and getting 80+ MPGDac wrote:the PG long is very common on 72cc set ups. even though its a 90cc pipe.

projects galore
pulley and gears, its what all my friends with elites run on.
its a great set up. Pull 50mph all day long getting 80-90 MPG.
And since the stock cylinder is ment to be help WOT, you can hold it WOT all day without blowing it up. Its overall a great set up.

So with the VT gears, is it just pressing off a gear and pressing on a new one then swapping them, OR, are there machinging and other stuff needed to be done?
And when you say pulley, are you meaning the variator, or the clutch housing?
Any pics?
I'm thinking of ordering these parts this week, but wanna know before I do it.
Does VT sell performance clutches? The bell housing on mine is warped in many spots, its not perfectly circular.
Is the pulley the thing your finger is on in this thread
