Not a good idea. For a start, its important to keep the correct spacing between the cylinder and case since it effects port timing, displacement, and clearance of piston with cylinder head. If desperate, you would be better off buying high temperature sheet gasket material from an auto parts store and cutting your own. I don't recall if 1/64 or 1/32" is the correct spec. Anyone?

By the way, I purchased a very inexpensive top end gasket set for my Elite LX, it was intended for european SA50 models, but the base gasket is the wrong shape, with narrower transfer ports. Looks a lot like its from an SB50 or Spree. Unfortunately I don't have an original gasket for these lying around. If anyone is willing to scan a Spree or SB50 gasket against graph paper and post here or email me an attachment, I'd be willing to check it and pass on the information about the cheap set if it works. The aluminum head gasket in the set is spot-on.

Buy one, you can not use form a gasket for this, too precise.

Elite LX gasket issue: DIO gasket?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Not a Dio gasket. Dios have larger port cut-outs than the LX. These are smaller more like a Vision (but smaller boost port) or SB50 or Spree.

My point is if the set is the same as either the SB50 or Spree this would be a very cheap alternative (about $8 shipped for head, base, exhaust, reed cage, manifold gaskets) for some forum members.

So is there a site where I can print a full size picture of the gasket, then transfer it to gasket material, trace and cut?
