air filter problems

before my moped died i had to clean the filter every week because it would get so freaking dirty air couldnt pass through it and it always reaked of gas and oil any ideas?

That means it's doing it's job. You are obviously in a dusty environment and the filter is extending the life of the rings and piston. Clean it daily if you have to, it beats rebuild costs.

Better yet buy a few and clean them all at once. They're only $3 new.
