My new stunt toy (89 SB50)

Post by Dac »

ok, so i ran into a old friend today, he use to have an purple elite back in the day. I talked to him about buying it and he said he would sell it to me for $125. He said it has been sitting for the past few years.
We drove over to his house, he opened up the garage just to find nothing. he called his mom and found out she sold it in a yard sale last year. "Well you could take that other moped" he said as we walked into his other garage.
There, laying on its side in a puddle of its own oil/gas, in all its dusty glory...

We dragged it out of his garage, he just kinda laughed and said if i wanted it, it was mine.
Its been laying there for like 5-7 years. He said he dont think it ever really had panels. Since the only remaining panel is busted to *, i think im just going to get it running, rip off the remains of the panels. Then use it as a stunt toy.

ill start working on it tomorrow, knowing how i am, this should be running with in a few days. i cant wait for this 30mph action!

LOL, have fun. Lets see if it outlasts the *.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

i dont know man, that * took allot of s*** and kept on pushing. I mean, with a zip tie, and duck tape i could fix any problem it had.
But then again, this is a honda, it should last forever. We will have to wait and see.

Nice find dude! Can't go wrong with a FREE F'N scoot! :o

Although if it was me I'd save the front panel, flat back the rest and not worry about panels and get a dio mount so you could swap in your dio block at will :P

Nothing like free extra power simply due to power:weight

But I'm also not big on stuntin so I'm biased lol
projects galore :nerd:

Ok, so im at the end of day one when it comes to working on this thing ( it needs a cool name:Of death)
-dropped the motor
-rebuilt top end with everything cleaned up.
-cleaned up the reeds
-cleaned the carb
-cleaned the intake (it was full of nastly goo s***)
-fixed the kickstarter.
-cleaned up the tail pipe.
-drained the gas
-drained the oil (before you even say anything kenny, it was bad, it had water in it)
-clean up the gas tank+ petcock
-cleaned up/replaced all the lines on the bike
-Gave the front panel and the seat pan a $1.25 paint job.
-realized that someone swapped the caps and the store and i had the color blue.
-removed all the stuff off the handle bars, leaving only the brakes and throttle
-rewired/reset up a new starter button.
-replaced old weak battery with a stronger, but bigger one.
-made a mini mount for new, but still not sure if finel headlight.

:| yeah, today was all about getting this old little thing going.

i still need to mount a set (anything different then stock.) and air up the tires. and finish rewiring the new head light. and putting on some sort of brake light, because even stunt, junker bikes have to somehow let cars know there stopping.

I think tomorrow im going to go get some differnt paint. i really dont know if i like the blue or not. I mean, it wasnt the color i though i was going to paint, but once i started i just kinda went with it. In the pictures its covered in little dirt/grease spots from me working on it (my bad)
I left the panel all cracked and busted up. Kinda gives it a warn in feel.

its all done for the most part, i pulled a awesome wheelie today, awesome right up to the crash.
I love having this thing, i took it to a old abandoned school and had some fun today. Jumping side walk ledges, tearing up some gravel at the old play ground, wheeling in the fields. I mean, it isnt really fast enough for any races or anything, but its nice because i have something to trash around on without having to worry about breaking stuff.

You really need a brake/running light on that thing.

So, is the pink piping on the seat your signature for your stunt scoot? :P
