A few questions about my newly purchased Elite

Hey everyone. Nice forum.

I've been searching and I've come to think that I may be screwed when it comes to upgrades.

I purchased a 1988 Honda Elite E, and really would like it to go faster than 27mph. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is the SB50 model, at least from what I put together here, and that would mean it's not upgradable?

It's in excellent working condition, but I'd like something to go a bit faster to keep up with traffic on the 35mph roads. Any recommendations on this or should I try and sell it and get a different one? What's the value of it?

I think if I remember correctly I read you can do the 1/2 auto belt mod on the "E" . Motor and trans wise they are close to a spree. Look at this thread.

not really, its a slow bike and there is no making it faster.

i have a 89 e myself and its basically useless to me. i was thinking about selling it and looking for another 94-01 elite for a long term project.

If your the master of the dremel and have a vast mechanical knowledge you can make one hit 40 easy. If you have to ask you cant handle it.
