So when i put the top end back together, do I oil up the cylinder gasket, or just put it on dry? I know it will get some oil on it when i lube the piston to get the jug back on........

You dont lube gaskets, put em on dry, if its gets some oil on it its no big deal but its not needed.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
