Spree Belt mod

Post by slaughter83 »

I recently put on a new belt that was a lot tighter and when the spree is in the "first gear" it violently shakes and rattles. Is this the belt being squeezed into the next gear? thanks

There is no "gear" it only has one.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Sounds like the clutch chattering.

or the outside pulley (w/ the teeth) is not on straight

there are some cogs on the shaft and i found that when your putting the outside pulley back on, the washer can hang up on the cogs
easy way to check is to pull the cover off and turn the pulley by hand while looking down the side to see if it wobbles in and out
or if the nut is tight but you can wiggle the outside pulley back and forth, its not tight, take it off and try again
