Hi there, I just got a spree with about 5000 miles for about $50 from a friend.
Cleaned the carb, new tires and new battery. But now there's a problem with the new tires. I put on tires that were a little wider than the previous ones and now the kickstand is always hitting up against the wheel. Should I just take the kickstand off and grind it a little? or should I keep it off and find a side kickstand?
Also I'm thinking about painting it, what's some prep work on the plastic I need to do? Should I prime it first?
Thanks.
New Spree.. Need tips and advice

Well if you cant exchange the tires, either of the options you named would work fine (so long as the kickstand is all the tires are rubbing).
The cheapest option is probably to tweak the stock stand if only a little clearance is needed.

yeah, thats what i would do too. painting plastics is kind of easy too. just make sure to clean them, sand it down a bit. no need to prime. get the spray paint especially made for plastic paint too, like from wal mart. they have a good brand there. also, when painting, do light layers. the more layers, the more glossy. if you over spray, you can tell, so thats why you do light layers.
