Carb Issues

Post by gitRdan69 »

I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the carb, I just don't know what the problem is. Starts right up, rides fine, but doe4snt idle worth a darn. I was tinkering tonight, the idle screw still has to be all the way in to keep it running for more than a second, and the air screw is making no noticeable differences when adjusted. I've cleaned it out a few times, but am at a stand still.

The bike runs fine at WOT, moves right along at 25ish, but come up to a stoplight and i have to constantly feather the throttle.

Any feedback is appriciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Pull carb, disasemble, clean everything, set and double check the FLOAT LEVEL, set air screw to spec. and reinstall carb. Re adjust as necessary.

Can this be checked with a dial caliper, the picture in the manual I have isnt too clear on where/what to measure to/from.

Measure from the carb body where the bowl sits against to the top of the float.Don't hold it on it's side, but carb upside down. I'm assuming you have the float measurement.
