86 Spree idle question

Bike idols perfect with carb idle screw removed. Is this OK or was the throttle cylinder installed improperly.

that doesn't sound good at all. when the screw is out. the throttle is completely closed. When u installed the throttle did a notch in the throttle rest on where the screw goes in? cause it should

Which screw? sounds liek a dirty carb to me, cant be run that way, it will suck in dirt.
