Thanks to everybody here!!! You guys rock. My spree is alive and with a few minor carb adjustments, she'll be fast and perfect. I pilfered a spring off a 50cc Elite in my garage and it was the solution to my air screw problem.
For the first time since I bought her, I got to ride her through the neighborhood. Woooohooo, 30 to 35 mph never felt so fast!
Now this posting is not all about joy. I have what appears to be a carb leak issue. For some reason there is a gas leak at the back of the carb from the float bowl. Now the leak is not from the drain tube where the drain hose attaches to from the bottom, but rather the small tube above it.
What causes the draining from the top tube and how can I minimize it so I don't waste precious gasoline. Now I'm talking about the tube that is at the back of the carb between the two screws that mount the float bowl to the bottom of the carb. I hope that was descriptive enough.
I'm enjoying the Spree, I just don't want to get stranded somewhere because I have leaked away my fuel. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Ok, I had already replaced the float with a new one. How do I adjust it?
If I can adjust the float, then perhaps I don't have to buy the valve float needle .
Just thought I would try that, since I won't have the valve float needle part until it arrives in the mail.
