1984-85 Spree - mothballed

Post by THESILVERSURFER »

Hey, I have a perfect exampe of a spree 50 with only 714 miles on it - it has been in a heated garage for over 23 years. HELP!

It was stored with fuel and oil in the tank, bad move on the old owners part - I've removed all lines and drained the tanks (oil and gas). I will replace the lines if needed. The airfilter literally crumbled in my hands. I ordered a new battery and some plugs already.

What else should I do to get it ready to run. I have not tried to start it and wont until its all ready to go.

lastly - will bigger tires fit on this ped?

I welcome all of your suggestions. Thanks!

clean the carb, redo the lines, spray some WD-40 down the spark plug hole before cranking it over for the first time.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

No larger tires, they dont help anything. Belt should be alright.
