Has anyone tried using kevlar reinforced CVT belts in their mopeds? just wondering how much difference in belt lifespan they make. any problems using them?
regards
i know for a fact that my malossi kevlar belt has far outlasted my stock honda belt, and on my bro's zuma, it used to eat stock belts every couple months or so, and the polini kevlar belt has survived. the kevlar belts are usually stiffer than the stock ones so except a little parasitic power loss, but i could not feel a difference on either of my scooters.
thanks for the info. as an aside question is there any room for using a cvt belt that's a slightly different length than the stock belt size. such as suing a 669mm belt in place of a 660mm stock length?
i dont know if 9mm will make a huge difference, but you can run + or - length belt, up to a point. the belt for a jog is longer than the belt for a zuma, it does limit top speed slightly, but it ran with it. i dont know for sure though, dont take my word for it!
yes you can use the 669 belt.you will like that length better.
Nothing like getting stroked!
