New guy with questions
Hello all, new to the forum. Ive been looking for a dio for a while now with no success. I did however find a nice white and blue '86 aero for $500. I got to thinking. Why not swap a dio motor, fork, and wheels into the aero. Im pretty sure thats all do-able from what Ive searched and read. My question is: How hard is it going to be to find the other aero parts later down the road? The scoot doesnt need anything at the moment but I can see that changing as time goes on. I guess Im just a little hesitant to buy a scoot that no parts are available for.

You should be able to get any oem part still for the aero. My dad has one we've never had a problem getting parts. I'd buy it based on the price. Personally i wouldn't pay more than 400 or 500 dollars for one. That's not to say they're not worth more. We drive old Hondas and newer Yamahas and they are just as fun as if not funner than the Yamahas. It's just once or twice a month you find a really good deal on a Honda. My dad's aero smokes my cousin's elite dio all day long, but they are both on stock bores with variators, the aero also has a windshield.
You also have to consider do you want a dio really bad. Because if you do and you get an aero you probably won't be satisfied till you get the dio. Also in the long run you can make the dio faster.

Greetings:
I can answer on behalf of Deepinnaharta Honda.
Cowboy's parts guys have always gone the extra mile for me. Of course they have nothing in stock, but they go on computer One and find anything I ask for 90% of the time. Computer Two gives them access to another 9%.
Fuel sender, vacuum fuel valve, every gasket I've asked for, all 2 days away from their warehouse.
Only plastic panels are just about impossible to find. MrCycle.com had the center rear panel, for instance, that Cowboy couldn't find. Still seeking the hatch cover for inside the right side trunklet.

wheelman,
i have a perfect rear hatch / trunk access cover that i would sell you. all you would have to do is paint it; it is already primed.
gasser, my opinion on the Aero you may be buying.... DO IT!! the white and blue Aero's are sweet as *, and you CAN make them fast. IMHO, the 85-87 Aero 50 is the best looking scooter Honda has ever produced!!
