aero acts like the choke is on

Post by motomaster99 »

i've got an 84 aero that acts like the choke is on (it has a bystarter) obviously before the bystarter is warmed up but even after its warmed up it still does it. It will rev up to a certain rpm and act like the choke is on or as if it had a revlimiter. Then after a few seconds, it revs up some more chokes out, revs up, does this repeatedly, and slowly accelerates. I've played around with the metering needle which seems to help, but this makes it run worse. How long does it take the bystarter to move to the fully warm position? Its not registered yet and I'm sadly only 15 for 23 more days so these rides haven't been very long. Any thoughts?

Clean the carb.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
