Re: this is marc
I yet have to ask my dad. sorry for the delay.
Still haven't gotten my spree started.
here are the specs.
130psi of compression
I have spark
Its getting fuel(at least as far as i can tell)
It won't fire when i spray WD40 down the carb mouth.
And i yet have to spray some down the jug to see what happens.
I'm thinking my ignition coil is bad, it seems like it skips spark every so often.

Use a screwdriver to see how long of a spark you can draw. A new plug can't hurt(even if the current one is new).

Re: this is marc
if you got spark your good. It is probally a gap in your reeds. will not start if you have a gap on those reeds.......That would be great if your dad could start doing the heads for people who dont have a machine shop close by. If you want I can put one of your dads cards or his contact information in the kits if he wants a little extra business.

Re: this is marc
put the kit on today and love it. question though, with the 95 jet the engine was not getting enough air or something and would not keep running.

Re: this is marc
alright, i'll use a screw driver tomorrow and see how big of a jump i can get. i cleaned the reeds very well, (there was some yamahbond from the night before on there)
Its pulling gas with the compression.
I just have no clue anymore. Idk what to do. its seriously * me off, haha, i've worked on the * for 4 days straight, for at least 4 hours a day, taking everything apart, and cleaning everything, and making sure everything was how it should be...
PLEASE help with any info you might have.
Thanks!!

Re: this is marc
Was there any gap on the reeds? There cannot be any gap.
There is another area where you must look. You have two main engine seals(cranks shaft). One is behind the magnito, and one is behind your solid variator. The kit is doing 130lbs of compression, so you might have popped one of you seal since you where using WD-40.Stock is usually 120 max. If your engine seal popped the bike will not start. If that is the just press it back in with the corner of a socked and a hammer. If you see gas and oil seaping from behind the magnito, or from behind the variator, it is probally a seal.
Have you tried a new plug?

Re: this is marc
Yes, i've tried two new plugs.
The magnito is just the fly wheel correct?!
And then i'll have to pull my crank case cover off, and then my front variator and see if i can see any gas/ oil?
Thanks alot marc!!

Re: this is marc
If you have a blown crank seal or other bottom end seal you can tell by pulling the plug and cranking it over, if the bottom end is good you will hear a POP every time it hits BDC. Usually a blown crank seal means your bottom end bearings are gone, but sometimes they just fail from old age.

Re: this is marc
and if they're out of place, do i just push them back in with a socket and hammer like marc said?...

Re: this is marc
Replace, if they dried out and shrunk they will more than likely do it again, lean you out and blow the engine.

Re: this is marc
Those seals can pop out. It does not mean your main engine bearings are bad or might be going. They can also start to leak over time due to drying out. And as to the back of the socket with a hammer to press the seals back in place. Thats how I have always done it. I have only done over 3,000 engine rebuilds on honda scooter engines alone. Works for me. I can rebuild a honda scooter engine from scratch in 1 1/2 hours and thats with the disassembly time.. Easy money baby...... Have you checked your oil injector. Sometimes they loosen and start sucking air. Why you using WD 40 to start the thing. I use carb cleaner with a little two stroke oil or smok starting fluid with 2stroke pre mixed in the can. Yah thats right. Carb cleaner.
Re: this is marc
haha. well i was heading out to work, and my dad was working on it, that was at 4:30 EST.
I suggested pulling the motor off.
I get home at 10:30 and walk into the garage. I sudden look off horror appears on my face. With it pitch black out, and no lights on in the garage yet, i see the spree, with NO engine on it. walk over, turn the lights on, and its in a million pieces
Well, now we figured it out, i need new bearings, a new crankshaft with rod. crank seals, the gasket for the crankcase cover, and a new base gasket, because he pulled the jug off, and i guess you're supposed to replace everytime you pull the jug.
Well. now im looking for those parts. so im gonna put it back together, and trade it, for my neighbors elite s dio.

Re: this is marc
You can rebuild the crank, you just have to find a shop with the proper equipment(shop press and a jig that lets you see if everything is straight and true).
