86 spree dying when going over bumps

Post by tonrogs »

Seems to try to die if not die when I go over bumps....It will lose power when going over larger bumps on the road and if I try to go through grass it wants to die.

Think this could be too much or too little gas in the float? I havent checked out the float yet and I know the previous owner had the chamber off it.

Probably is the carb as mentioned. But check the easy stuff first. Spark plug wire..................wires to coil..................

mine does that too, i think it is just the fact that when you go over a bump the float goes up with the gas so it floods itself, therefore loss in power. The grass problem....ummm don't drive on the grass?

as i said...it might just be the float moving up with the gas in the bowl, making it flood. mine does that but after a sec or two, it goes back to normal.

Ya....same. It will go back to normal, but it is quite annoying.

Mine does this too, worse if you're just starting out (like rolling out of the driveway.)
