oil pump/other question

Post by jeffhardyrules »

I read somewhere in the forums that the oil from the oil pump doesn't go through the tube very fast but everyone that I ask(at school) says my problem of the engine getting hot quickly has to do with either the oil pump or spark plug. I am sure it isn't the spark plug because I also read in the forums that this one guy was using an AUTOLITE 275(which is what I have)so how do I clean the pump out. I have no clue in what I am doing so asking is the best thing so I don't break anything. Oh and I cleaned my muffler out as good as I could and now it get full power around 13 MPH instead of 16 MPH so I actually believe the problem is with my muffler. Hopefully that wasn't to confusing. Sorry about all the questions but I am not a mechanicaly inclined person. Thanks, yet again

but does ur muffler still has holes?

I'm almost certain that you are running too lean if it does. this causes it to overheat, oil pump is not a likely problem.
projects galore :nerd:

with the dents and holes in the muffler it does reach 30 if there isn't wind. If I go against he wind(the wind being about 15 mph) the spree goes 25 mph

STUPID QUESTION could I put silicone(for the time until I buy a muffler) over the holes. I know it is stupid. I am just trying to think of something to cover the holeswith and not destroy my scooter. Thanks.

Or JB weld. Comes in two tubes. Mix equal amont from each tube .
Smear on and let dry at least 12 hours. Sand around the holes before you put it on so you have a clean surface.
